The book was published as part of the Governor's "Countrymen" project, combining three issues of the magazine "Addresses of Penza" prepared under the auspices of the World Club of Petersburgers as a special edition of the journal "Addresses of St. Petersburg."
The collection includes articles on the literary, theatrical, and artistic heritage of the Penza region. The materials focus on locations on the map of the city and oblast associated with historical events and the names of prominent cultural and artistic figures.
"Three issues of 'Addresses of Penza' are very elegant and substantial. I believe we have very good prospects with such an intellectual foundation. I greet everyone and am delighted by the positive connections being established between cities and their people," welcomed Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage Museum and President of the World Club of Petersburgers, in a video address.
The authors of the publications include both Penza and St. Petersburg journalists, historians, and local history experts.
The regional leader noted that the collection includes his own article dedicated to the city of Nurijan-Mohshi (now Narovchat).
The publication also features a Founders' Gallery, highlighting statesmen who developed Penza and made significant contributions to the city's spiritual and cultural life. These include Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov, Governor Nikolai Dmitrievich Seliverstov, and Second Secretary of the Penza Regional Committee of the CPSU Georgy Vasilyevich Myasnikov.
