Penza Region Educator's Project Recognized as Best in All-Russian Competition
Society 03.02.2026
Oksana Shadrina, a teacher-librarian at School No. 10 in the city of Serdobsk, has won the All-Russian competition for initiatives to preserve and protect historical memory.
Over 1,500 submissions were received for the competition from 89 regions of the Russian Federation, as well as from the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
Oksana Shadrina, together with the school's "Poisk" museum group, presented the project "Walk Along the Streets of Heroes" -- a board game with quiz elements on the theme of the Great Patriotic War. The project's goal is to engage schoolchildren, students, and their families in learning about the heroic deeds of local residents after whom city streets are named. The uniqueness of the project lies in personalizing history through familiar geographical landmarks.
The awards ceremony for the winners took place at the Mariinsky Palace ahead of the 82nd anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade.
