Oleg Melnichenko and Oleg Sysuev held a working meeting at the Penza Oblast Government.
The business conversation continued the interaction between the parties under the cooperation agreement signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2025.
Specifically, the discussion focused on developing banking services for enterprises and the population. In Penza Oblast, Alfa-Bank ranks among the top three institutions in terms of clients from small and medium-sized businesses, as well as individuals. Startups receive particular support – the bank accounts for 47% of all new business registrations in the region.
"Over the past five years, the number of Alfa-Bank branches in the region has increased from one to seven. We welcome the expansion of your presence in Penza Oblast," stated Oleg Melnichenko, approving plans to open a branch in Sputnik, a town with approximately 50,000 residents, in 2026.
"I know you are actively working with young people. Financial literacy projects are being implemented in schools and secondary vocational institutions. You also conduct educational work with pensioners," the Governor added, supporting the bank's social initiatives.
As noted by Oleg Sysuev, the bank is currently focused on cooperating with government structures and participating in the development of key economic sectors.
"New large-scale challenges require us to work more productively," said the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alfa-Bank.
The discussion also touched upon the implementation of social projects and the introduction of modern technologies by representatives of the Alfa Group. Developments based on artificial intelligence help address socially significant tasks, including in healthcare.
Oleg Melnichenko drew special attention to the possibilities of implementing remote monitoring for patients with chronic diseases, designed to prevent complications, as well as a digital system capable of independently detecting cancer at the earliest stages.
"These projects are interesting and promising for combating cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Let's explore this," the regional leader directed.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Oleg Melnichenko thanked Oleg Sysuev for the visit and expressed readiness for further cooperation and discussion of joint socially significant projects.
