The district semi-final of the "It's a Family Tradition" competition of the presidential platform "Russia – a Land of Opportunity" has started in Ufa.
285 family teams from 14 Oblasts of the Volga Federal District met to undergo a series of intellectual, creative and sports tests united by the theme "Being a family." The winners of the semi-final will represent their Oblast in July 2026 in the final of the competition in Moscow and compete for the main prizes – 60 certificates for 5 million rubles each to improve housing conditions for the winners and family trips for the finalists. The Volga Oblast became one of the most popular in terms of the number of applications this season: 140,000 people – nearly 40,000 family teams from all 14 Oblasts – fought for the chance to reach the semi-final from this federal district. As a result, 285 families received tickets to Ufa.

On the competition days of May 12 and 13, families will go through a series of intellectual, sports and creative tests, which will begin with a quiz from the Russian Znanie Society – "Znanie.Game." All tasks are united by the common theme "Being a family," and some of them are dedicated to the cultural code of Russia – the key theme of the second season. The culmination of the semi-final will be an awards ceremony on May 14, where the names of the winning families will be announced.
