The regional government discussed the implementation of these projects at the meeting on Thursday, 22 March 2018.
Andrey Kulintsev, First Deputy Chairman of the Government, announced that more than 50 information and work sessions, 16 meetings of the project office and five meetings of the project committee were held in 2017. The Penza region was engaged in 11 federal priority projects, more than four billion roubles were allocated for their implementation from federal, regional and local budgets.
In 2018, the Penza region participates in 10 federally funded projects. They include “Safe and high-quality roads”, “Creating favourable urban environment”, “Integrated development of mono-cities”, “Lean clinic”, “Small business and support for individual entrepreneurial initiatives”, etc. In addition, several regional projects have been approved.
Andrey Kulintsev reported on the objectives and results in each area.
Thus, the programme of developing single-industry cities is aimed at reducing dependence on town-forming enterprises, attracting new investments, and improving the standards of living in these settlements.
“Within the project, we signed an agreement with the Mono-City Development Fund. The project teams were formed and trained. As a result of joint work, the entrance spaces in clinics were repaired and the ambulances were provided for mono-cities. The first part of the project “Five Steps of Improvement” was implemented,” the first deputy chairman stated.
“Earlier this year, Serdobsk acquired the status of the area of advanced social and economic development, which will make it possible to create at least 600 new jobs. The agreements on five investment projects have been concluded, the overall investment should be more than 14 billion roubles,” he added.
Similar efforts are under way in Zarechny and Nikolsk.
Nikolay Simonov, Chairman of the Government of the Penza region, noted the significance of this work and its appreciation at the federal level.
“Dmitry Medvedev signed the enactment on creating priority development areas (PDAs) only in two cities of the Volga Federal District. They are Kanash in Chuvashia and Serdobsk. Our task now is to attract as many residents as possible to the municipality in order to improve the economic situation,” he instructed.
The chairman of the government emphasised that PDA residents have special preferences for business that should spark the interest of entrepreneurs.
According to Andrey Kulintsev, the objectives of project activity also include revitalising the work of authorities on launching new regional projects, establishing PDA in Zarechny, participating in the all-Russian competition of projects on favourable urban environment and a number of others.
