The artistic gymnastics competitions was conducted among the sport schools of Russia. The competitions were conducted in two days.
Young athletes from Penza School of Gymnastics managed to came first, leaving behind strong teams of sport schools from Kazan and Obninsk. The winning team members are Aleksey Lunev, Artem Kozlov, Valentin Beskhmelnistyn, Ivan Shkurov, Ivan Matsunenko, and Artem Tsarev.
Similar competitions were held in 2016. The Penza team was on the 4th place.
Apart from team leadership, the gymnasts were successful in individual competitions as well. Valentin Beskhmelnitsyn became the first in horizontal bar routine and the second in rings. Vladislav Lukyanov won gold in bars and was the third in vault and horizontal bar. Ivan Shkurov won the bronze in floor exercise.Aleksey Lunev won two bronze medals - in vault and floor exercise.
In total, Penza gymnasts won 10 medals.
