The European Karate Championship took place in a Danish town of Aalborg on February 8th-10th, 2019. The main championship of “the Old World” welcomed over 1100 athletes from 50 European countries.
It was a thorny path for a sportsman from Penza, a student of the Penza Regional Olympic Reserve School, Vladislav Taldykin, to reach the European Champion Final. Vladislav started quite steady having won three fights 1:0, 3:1 and 6:1. Then followed difficult victories against Belgian Mahauden and Italian de Vivo by Hantei after 0:0.
In the final the Russian matched An Hong Nguyen from Hungary, and the final was quite nervous. But the outcome brought mere joy – Vladislav Taldykin won by Hantei. Penza’s athlete took “the gold”!
