From the 15th to 21st of April the “Sura” swimming sport center will be the venue of a swimming championship of Russia (deaf sport). This prestigious competition will be held in Penza for the second time, the first time the competition took place in 2015.
This year the competition will embrace athletes from 34 regions of the country, including Moscow and Moscow region, the Republic of Tatarstan, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Crimea, Primorskiy and Krasnoyarsk regions, Khanty-Mansiysk AD, Ulyanovsk, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Sverdlovsk, Smolensk, Rostov, Samara, Saratov, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kemerovo, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm and Penza regions. This contest is a trail for a swimming championship of the world (deaf sport) to be held from the 25th to 31st of August 2019 in Sao-Paolo (Brazil).
Penza region will be represented by strong deaf sport athletes from the athletic adaptive school of Penza region. One of the regional team members is an honoured master of sports in Russia in deaf sport (swimming), repeated champion of XXIII Summer Deaflympics (Samsun, Turkey - 2017), repeated European champion, repeated champion and record holder of Russia in 2015-2018 Olga Klyuchnikova – a student-athlete of an honoured coach of Russia Galina Dolgova.
The opening ceremony will take place on April 16th at 11:00.
