On March 6, 2021, the interregional dancesport tournament "Style of the Year 2021" was held at the "Olimpiysky" sports arena in Penza. The tournament included:
Open Championship of Penza in the age categories "Boys and girls 7-9 years old", "10-11 years old";
Official sports competitions of Penza in the age category "Boys and girls 12-13 years old" - double-event;
Official sports competitions of the Penza Oblast in the age categories "Boys and girls 12-13 years old" – European and Latin American programme, "Boys and girls 14-15 years old" - European and Latin American programme.
Large-scale competitions gathered dance couples from 5 regions: the Penza, Samara, Saratov and Ulyanovsk Oblasts and the Republic of Mordovia. The Penza Oblast regularly becomes a lodestone for talented dancers – the "Style of the Year" interregional dancesport tournament is held annually at a high level. This year, the competition has been held for the eighteenth time.
Sports competitions are held to develop dancesport in the Penza Oblast and to involve as many citizens, especially children and young people, as possible in this kind of activity.
