Japan hosted the World Gymnastics Championship where Russian
national team included Grigory Klimentyev, gymnast from the Penza Oblast. He took third place in the ring exercises.
The Chinese Lan Xingyu won in this category with a score of 15,200, and the Italian Marco Lodadio took second place with 14,866 points. The third place with 14,833 points was shared by two gymnasts - Grigory Klimentyev and the Italian Salvatore Maresca.
