On August 5-6, a rugby-7 tournament was held in Krymsk among the girls' teams of the XI Summer Spartakiad of Russian students. The Penza Oblast team from Lokomotiv-Kamenka entered the playoffs from the first place.
In the semi-final match, the Penza team defeated the Moscow team. The match ended with a score of 36:0.
The winners were determined in the match between the teams of the Penza and Kemerovo regions. Trainees of Maksim Lyubimkin and Maksim Uskov played confidently. The Penza team won the tournament with a final score of 34:7.
The Penza Oblast team for the first time in history won gold medals of the Spartakiad of Russian students in rugby-7 among girls.
