The Hero of Russia G.N. Troshev Martial Arts Center (Armavir) hosted the Russian Sambo championship among boys and girls from 14 to 16 years old. The tournament brought together about 700 athletes from 43 regions of the country. The competition was qualifiers for the World Championship.
The Penza Oblast team included 6 athletes.
On September 14, 2022, Sofia Soluyanova, an athlete of the Penza Oblast, won a gold medal in the 47 kg weight category, securing a ticket to the world championship.
