From September 24 to 26, the All-Russian SAMBO tournament "In honour of St. Nicholas of Japan" was held in the city of Rzhev, Tver Oblast. Athletes of the Penza Olympic sports school "Vityaz", trainees of senior coaches Oleg Mozharov and Aleksandr Vetchinnikov successfully performed at the competitions. Our sambo wrestlers received 10 awards.
Konstantin Gorshenev became the winner in the 64 kg category. Vladislav Kapinos, Viktor Kapinos and Alexey Larin won silver medals. The bronze medalists of the tournament were Dmitry Kulikov, Evgeny Suryaev, Ilya Komzarakov, Maksim Pozdnyakov, Ivan Sagarev, and Derenik Khachatryan.
