The Sports Contest of student teams of the Volga Federal District, held as part of the "Labour. Sport. Health." festival, took place from September 30 to October 2.
During three days, 490 student athletes and 50 volunteers from 12 regions of the Volga Federal District competed in mini-football, volleyball, armsport, tug of war, and the All-Russian sports complex "Ready for Labour and Defense" (GTO).
A team of 25 students from the Penza Oblast took part in competitions in all sports disciplines of the Spartakiad.
The results were as follows:
2nd place in arm wrestling;
2nd place in GTO complex;
2nd place in mini-football;
2nd place in tug of war;
more than 10 prizes in the individual competition in GTO and armsport.
According to the overall results, the Penza Oblast team took the first place. The region became the winner of such competitions for the first time. Before that, the best result of Penza student teams was the third place in 2019.
Following the results of the past competitions, the Volga Federal District team will be formed, which will go to the All-Russian Spartakiad of student teams, which will be held in early November in the Kemerovo Oblast.
The event was supported by Rosmolodezh (Federal Agency for Youth Affairs). The organizers were the Orenburg State Agrarian University and the District Headquarters of the Student Clubs of the Volga Federal District, and the Department of Youth Policy of the Orenburg Oblast.
