The championship of the Volga Federal District in rhythmic gymnastics was held in Penza. The N.A. Lavrova Sports School students won numerous medals.
In the group exercises of the all-around, Penza team took second place. The team consisted of Angelina Kilmyakina, Sofiya Kolchina, Veronika Shandurova, Kseniya Boyarinova, Elizaveta Slesaryova, and Anastasia Denisova.
The Penza team also showed good results in the finals of individual all-around events. Penza gymnasts became econd in the exercise with 5 hoops. Angelina Kilmyakina, Veronika Shandurova, Kseniya Boyarinova, Elizaveta Slesaryova, and Anastasia Denisova showed their skills.
Penza athletes showed the same result in the exercise with 3 ribbons and 2 balls. The winners of the silver medals were Angelina Kilmyakina, Sofiya Kolchina, Veronika Shandurova, Elizaveta Slesaryova, and Anastasia Denisova.
The athletes are coached by Irina Filatova and Yuliya Bogatskova.
In the team competition based on the results of individual exercises, the Penza team received bronze. Sofiya Dotsenko, Elizaveta Serebryakova, Valeriya Shumilina, Sofiya Asfina, Valeriya Kachurina, and Alisa Ponomaryova received medals. The girls performed under the guidance of Tatiana Vasilyeva.
