The championship of Russia in judo took place in the city of Kurovskoye. As part of the competitions, 26 pairs of athletes took to the tatami. Representatives of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tyumen, Omsk, Tver, Novosibirsk and Penza Oblast, and the republics of Bashkortostan and Mari El took part in the competition.
The awards of the championship were given in the following disciplines: Nage-no-Kata (kata of throws), Katame-no-Kata (kata of restraining techniques), and Ju-no-Kata (kata of softness).
Penza athletes showed decent results.  
Ilya Alyoshechkin and Kamil Lyapin took the first place in Katame-no-Kata. Kirill Korobovtsev and Dmitry Filimonov won silver awards in this technique.
In Nage no Kata Ivan Nemov and Nikita Ivakin became second. Ilya Mrastev and Ilya Dvuzhilov won bronze medals in the same discipline.
