All-Russian karate competition "Memory Cup" was held in Penza at the Voeykov Palace of Martial Arts. 800 participants from 23 regions of Russia took to the tatami. Athletes from the Penza Oblast showed decent results and won 23 medals.
The following athletes won gold medals:
Maksim Krasnov (60 kg weight class among men)
Nikita Minaev (67 kg weight class among men)
Vladislav Taldykin (75 kg weight class among men)
Aleksander Sisin (84 kg weight class among men)
Anastasiya Potyomina (61 kg weight class among women)
Viktoriya Sologub (54 kg weight class among athletes aged 14-15)
Yaroslav Karpeyev (76 kg weight class among athletes aged 16-17)
Yegor Gorelov (45 kg weight class among athletes aged 12-13)
Dmitry Terekhin and Anastasiya Prokhozheva won silver medals. Dmitry performed in the 55 kg weight among participants aged 16-17. Anastasiya competed in the 47 kg weight class among her peers aged 12-13.
The following athletes won bronze medals:
Danil Koracharov (68 kg weight class among boys aged 16-17)
Andrey Pinchenko (70 kg weight class among athletes aged 14-15)
Aleksandr Vasilenko won two bronze medals (70 kg weight class among boys aged 14-15 years and in the kata competition).
In the team kumite, the third place was taken by boys aged 16-17: Danil Koracharov, Anton Samodurovsky and Yaroslav Karpeyev.
Bronze medals in team kumite were won by boys aged 14-15: Aleksandr Rozhkov, Artyom Nazarov and Andrey Pinchenko.
In the team kumite, girls aged 14-15 also got into the top three: Alesya Kozina, Viktoria Sologub and Ilona Vartikyan.
The Penza Oblast took the second team place following the results of the competition.
The competition was dedicated to the memory of the people who devoted their lives to the establishment of karate training in the Penza Oblast.
