The final match of the season was held on June 18 in Krasnoyarsk. The Penza team won against Yenisei-STM. The winner was determined only in the second extra time with a score of 20:23.
In the year of the 60th anniversary of Penza rugby, this victory became historic – Lokomotiv-Penza won gold of the Russian Rugby Championship for the first time.
The head coach of the Penza team Aleksandr Yanushkin noted after the match that he dedicated this victory to his family and coach, founder of Penza rugby Oleg Balashov.
