On July 1 and 2, 2023, the Open Cup of the city of Melitopol in hockey among amateur teams of players over 40 years old was held for the first time in the Zaporozhye Oblast.
Representatives of the Penza Oblast took first place at this tournament. It is symbolic that the athletes won the Cup in the year of the 75th anniversary of Penza hockey. The delegation of the region was headed by the executive director of Dizel hockey club Sergey Bogatskov.
The team from Penza won four matches. In the final game, our players got the better of the team from Arkhangelsk with a score of 7-1. The Sevastopol team won bronze.
Together with Penza athletes, the hosts of the tournament, two teams from the Zaporozhye Oblast took part in the competition. Hockey players from the Republic of Crimea and the Arkhangelsk Oblast also took to the ice.
