From August 10 to 13, swimming competitions were held in Brest as part of the II CIS Games. Anton Mikheev and Maksim Pronin from the Penza Oblast won 5 medals.
Maksim Pronin, an athlete of the Soyuz sport school (Zarechny), won three medals. He won gold in the 4x100m combined relay, where he competed as part of the Russian national team. The swimmer won silver in the 200 m butterfly and bronze in the 100 m butterfly.
As part of the Russian national team, Anton Mikheev, a student of the Penza Water Sports School, won gold in the 4x100 m freestyle relay.
Anton also won a personal award – the athlete finished third in the 200 m freestyle.
Anton's coaches are Galina Dolgova and Natalia Abramova; Maksim's coach is Angelina Vankova.
