The World Championship in aesthetic group gymnastics was held in Bulgaria. Angelina Shnaider, a pupil of the Penza gymnastics school, won a silver medal as part of the "Madonna" team.
"This is a young sport; the aesthetic gymnastics federation was accredited in Penza Oblast in 2015. Over 10 years of work, 40 Masters of Sport of Russia have been trained. Today, more than 300 gymnasts practice this discipline in the region. Athletes from Penza Oblast are members of the Russian national team, competing in national and international competitions," noted Evgeniya Bochkaryova, Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of Penza Oblast.
The world's strongest athletes competed for the championship title. Over two days, 38 teams from 26 countries showcased their skills. Teams from the Russian Federation performed under the flag of the International Federation of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (IFAGG).
